My finger throbbed with pain the whole of today. I spent ages inspecting it to see if it had any cuts or bruises or something that caused its pain, but found nothing.
Then I remembered. I burnt it against the frying pan this morning while frying an egg for my bacon and egg sandwich breakfast.
Anyway! On to Day 3, perhaps one of the more interesting days, but oh-so-tiring.
Decided, who needs more than 3 hours of sleep, and got up at the insane hour of 4am. No, scratch that, make it 3:30am.
The moon was still up, bright and shining.
This was at Mount Coot-tha, where there are restaurants are the submit and a nice place for sight seeing.
There were already a bunch of photogs mulling around the area and snapping up some shots before the sun appears.
Look look! The first smidgen of sun!
It was all actually pretty exciting because I haven't seen the sun rise in a long long time. By long time, I mean, years.
I'm gonna showcase the photos, as many as I took, even though they mostly look the same, because heck, I woke up at 3:30am for this!
Golden Hour, except in the morning :D
Stanley does that to the sun... don't know enough about photography to know why it's a star shaped blob of light instead of... well.. the sun.
After an hour or so of photo taking (the sun only takes about 10 minutes to rise... even less actually), went back to apartment and had a good sleep. Needless to say, I didn't bother showering or changing, but hey, it's not my own bed, it doesn't need to be kept completely clean.
Woke up about 11am or so, had a quick breakfast of leftover food in the fridge (yes, trying to be all frugal by buying groceries and cooking since the apartment had everything, from frying pans and spatulas, to dishwasher, washing machine and dryer) before heading out again~
Brisbane had a lot of these trees... with these fruits... and they look like, I dunno, bananas with stunted growth.
Or maybe a durian without spikes.
Oh, I remember now! Went to the beaches in Brisbane... not quite Noosa, but close.
They closed off the majority of the beach there for some jet racing competition that was happening the next day, but after exchanging a few pleasantries with the guard on duty, was allowed to walk in. He even pointed out the best spot to watch some jet racers practicing.
And it was also here that I sat and stoned for about an hour or so because I didn't want to leave... it was so relaxing.
Lunch was at a steakhouse nearby.
Food. I think for $15, came with a free beer, which I exchanged for a lemon lime bitters. They gave me the real stuff- literally crushing lemon slices with what appeared to be a huge wooden baseball bat.
Further down the beach line, a bird breeding area is closed off.
This was at an island... um... I forgot the name... but it's a pretty commercialized island already, with lots of houses and more being constructed on the way, but this is the view one gets in front of their houses.
It'd be quite a nice place to retire to, unless you get sick of nature easily and prefer the busy life of the city.
Perfect spot for watching sunset too!
And I shall barrage you with more "artsy" photos.
Please shower Stanley with praises. He did so well during this Brisbane trip.
And it's setting, though I didn't take its final moments because I decided to take a video instead.
And it's gone.
This crane? bird wasn't scared of humans at all, it was hovering around the fisherman in front because he was feeding it scraps and small fish. When the fisherman left, it crept closer and closer. Stanley doesn't have a very good zoom, but still managed to take this...
and this.
Day 3 is pretty full on.. I didn't know so much was done in one day... must have been feeling super. Sunnybank Plaza is where the first and [currently] only MOS burger in Australia. Though one is well on its way... in Queensland. =_____= You'd think they'll be smart and put one in Sydney first, since we already have Pepper Lunch and Yoshinoya.
I took awful pics of the actual burger inside, so none will be posted, but it was kimchee pork rice burger and wagyu kimchee rice burger.
Pricy for MOS burger =( it's a lot cheaper in HK and Singapore, but oh well... we are in Australia, what to do~
I ate with a spoon so I really ruined the experience. It became rice + chilli pork and kimchee, much like the dish I used to serve while working at Midori restaurant. Still delicious :D
MOS burger in Sydney please?
